About this work

A brown-toned lithograph shows a Wright biplane in flight above a distant dark landscape under a warm orange sky, with motion streaks suggesting speed. The pilot sits in the open frame between the wings, and the wing struts and wire bracing are finely drawn. The print is signed Pousthomis and bears the publisher imprint K. F. 17 Rue Richer, Paris.
