About this work
A hand-colored engraving shows a woman in a feathered hat and lace collar holding a comic theatrical mask and a wine glass, with a fish and a platter on a table before her. Two fish appear in the sky at upper left, and three columns of Italian verse with the headings Gusto, Febraro and Pesce run along the bottom. The print is attributed to Alessandro Temini and dated 1600-1699.
