About this work
A colored political cartoon set in a glass greenhouse, where caricatured heads of public men sprout from flowerpots labeled with mocking plant names. A top-hatted gardener gestures toward a distant view of the White House, while a figure carrying a newspaper-wrapped pot and shears stands among the plants. Joseph Ferdinand Keppler created this print in 1882.
