About this work
A woodblock print shows a woman with an elaborate hairstyle and gold hairpins seated beside a seated mother in a striped and dotted robe who gestures toward an infant lying on the floor. A wooden screen edges the right side of the composition, and calligraphy appears in the upper right and left margins.
