About this work
A 1945 printed advertisement by the Dow Chemical Company shows a stylized map of Texas beneath a translucent cutaway block of seawater, with colorful seabed relief rising within it and two ships on the surface. Explanatory text on the left describes Dow's Texas Division extracting magnesium from seawater, and the Dow logo and the slogan 'Chemicals Indispensable to Industry and Victory' appear at right.
