Two large knot sandpipers stand close together on a dark rocky outcrop at the edge of the water, their long legs and slender bills clearly drawn. Blue wave lines and a pale grey sky fill the background in this Japanese woodblock print by Ohara Koson, dated 1900 to 1930.
