About this work
This costume design shows a standing male figure in a richly decorated tunic with panels of stylized birds and geometric patterns, worn with a belt, red leggings, and gilded shoes. The title block at upper left identifies the opera Il Figlio del Mare with music by Giuseppe Cicognani, and the figure is labeled Velador (atto III). The work is attributed to Pipein Gamba and dated 1907-1908.
