About this work
This design for a stage costume shows a standing sentry in a light blue military tunic with white crossbelts, black plumed helmet, tall black boots, and a sabre held at his side. The printed header names the opera Eidelberga mia! by Alberto Colantuoni, with music by U. Pacchierotti, and marks the figure as number 20, labeled Sentinella (comparsa). Artist Pipein Gamba and the date 1907 appear on the sheet, which is set against a red line-drawn landscape panel.
