About this work
A painted costume design for the character Burra in the opera Il Figlio del Mare, labeled Figurino N. 9 and Atto III. It depicts an elderly bearded man in a grey robe with red trim, purple leggings, tan shoes, and a grey fur-trimmed cap, leaning on a wooden staff. The sheet bears the title, librettists, composer Giuseppe Cicognani, and designer Pipein Gamba, dated 1907-1908.
