About this work
A dense crowd of caricatured masked faces fills a city street in this colored etching, with banners and placards reading phrases such as "Vive Anseele" and "Les Charcutiers de Jerusalem" rising above the procession. A central figure with a haloed head appears among the marchers, and building facades and flags recede into the background.
