About this work
A chromolithographic political cartoon titled The Biennial Shower, published in Puck and dated 1901 by Louis Dalrymple. Uncle Sam cranks a megaphone labeled River and Harbor Bill, 68,000,000 Dollars, from a U.S. Treasury building, sending a stream of coins across a map of the states. Figures with buckets and labeled pails, such as To Dam the Blue Grass Slough and To Drain the Pikeville Lands, scramble to catch the money.
