About this work
This chromolithographic plate from the series Diseases of the Organs of Digestion shows two views of a stomach affected by catarrhal and haemorrhagic gastritis. The upper figure displays a dark haemorrhagic area across the interior surface with the esophagus, pylorus and duodenum labelled, while the lower figure shows the folded mucosa in a longitudinal section.
