About this work
A hand-colored anatomical plate titled Diseases of the Blood Vessels shows two views of a human heart. The upper figure displays an excessively dilated left ventricle with its valves and internal muscular structures exposed, while the lower figure shows an ulcerated aortic sinus with yellowish diseased patches across the outer surface. The plate is dated 1888 and attributed to Jean Allard Jeancon.
