This Japanese woodblock print, titled Four Courtesans Elaborately Garbed, is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) and dated to the 19th century. Four women in richly patterned kimono sit and stand before a blue screen decorated with blossoming plum branches and golden panels, with a lacquer box decorated with cranes in the foreground.
