About this work
A colour lithographic lesson picture titled The Postman, published by W. & A.K. Johnston and dated 1905. A uniformed postman hands a letter to a young girl at a doorway while a woman in a pink dress and white apron stands nearby and a small boy reaches toward the letter. A boy runs across the street toward a red Royal Mail cart drawn by a horse, and the lower panel carries text and finger-play instructions for children.
