About this work
An engraved astronomical diagram shows the Sun with radiating rays on the left, a blue-tinted field, and Earth in the center with its shadow cast toward the right. The Moon appears in orbit, with numbered labels and a circular orbit path marked on the sheet. This 1829 print by Sigismond Visconti illustrates the geometry of solar and lunar eclipses.
