About this work
A chromolithographic print titled Red deer, attributed to Otto Speckter, shows a leaping stag with large antlers crossing a stream while a pack of hounds pursues it. Mounted hunters in red coats and tricorn hats, one sounding a hunting horn, ride through the woodland at the right, and a red squirrel perches on an overhanging branch.
