About this work
A chromolithograph titled Lion and dog, attributed to Otto Speckter, shows a recumbent lion in a cage with a small dog standing on its back. Behind iron bars, a crowd of spectators in nineteenth-century dress watches, while parrots and a cockatoo hang from the cage roof. The print is numbered No. 20 and bears the publisher's imprint from Gotha.
