About this work
A hand-colored lithograph in which a boy guides a team of horses pulling a harrow across a dirt road, while a farmer in a straw hat carries a basket of seed over his shoulder. Trees, a wooden fence and a few birds frame the rural scene. The print, titled Zaaien en Eggen, is attributed to Hendrik Jan van Lummel and dated 1841.
