About this work
A hand-colored lithographic print shows the ruined interior of a Romanesque chapel in Nijmegen, its brick arches and stone column half hidden by ivy and trees. The view opens onto a dirt path and scattered rubble, with spires visible faintly in the distance. The work is attributed to Hendrik Jan van Lummel and dated 1864.
