About this work
This hand-colored print shows two hunebeds, Tinaarloo above and Borger below, large prehistoric stone tombs built from massive boulders on open heathland. Two men in dark hats and coats stand beside the Tinaarloo monument, while a figure rests on top of the Borger stones for scale. The work is attributed to Hendrik Jan van Lummel and dated 1864.
