About this work
A hand-colored lithograph shows a seated man steering a horse-drawn grass-mowing machine across a meadow while a second man stands with a long staff beside him. Two horses, one brown and one white, pull the machine past a wooden fence, with trees and a farm building in the background. The work is titled Grasmaaien, attributed to Hendrik Jan van Lummel and dated 1841.
