About this work
A horizontal print shows three children in a processional row, each accompanied by an animal or toy: a girl carries a large cake on a plate, a boy in a striped shirt leads a white rabbit on a green wheeled cart, and a girl holds a doll while a black poodle and a black cat walk alongside. The flat, outlined figures and muted brown background are typical of the design of Gertrud Caspari, and the work is dated 1905.
