About this work
A nocturnal street scene shows a dense crowd moving between brightly lit market stalls at a Christmas market, with a street lamp and tall building facades rising behind them. Children in winter clothing and women in shawls are among the figures, rendered in dark tones with highlights on the illuminated stalls.
