About this work
An engraved profile portrait of a bearded man wearing a laurel wreath is set within a circular medallion bearing the legend FRIDERICVS PRIMVS AVG IMP. The medallion sits inside an ornate architectural border with scrollwork and grotesque figures, above a panel of Latin text.
