About this work

A woodcut-style engraved portrait in profile of Constantine, shown wearing a laurel wreath and a cuirass with a cloak fastened at the shoulder. The head sits within a circular medallion inscribed with the Latin name and imperial titles, set inside an ornate architectural frame with scrollwork and a Latin verse panel below. The page is numbered 68 and bears a heading identifying the effigy of Constantine as the 59th emperor and 20th of Constantinople.
