About this work
A woodcut-style engraved portrait in profile shows a bearded. no, a clean-shaven bust of a man wearing a beaded diadem and a draped garment, set within a circular inscribed medallion and an ornate architectural border. Latin lettering around the medallion and below the image gives the sitter's name and imperial title. The print is attributed to Jacopo Strada and dated 1559.
