About this work
This print from 1926 by Louis Arthur Holman, titled Aquatone, reproduces two works in a framed plate: an upper half-tone portrait of a woman with upswept hair and a ruffled white collar, and a lower sepia-toned scene of several bearded robed men gathered in a wooded landscape beside a seated figure and a resting sheep. The lower image shows a figure pointing toward a distant robed figure standing among trees. The plate notes that the reproductions were made by the printing house of William Edwin Rudge of New York.
