About this work
This print by Blanche Derousse, titled L’Iris bleu and dated 1900, shows a drooping iris flower on a slender stem with an unopened bud beside it. Strong dark tonal shading in the background contrasts with the pale paper, and the bloom's petals are rendered with fine hatched lines. The monogram appears in the lower right corner of the sheet.
