About this work
A two-tone lithographic print in black, green and salmon shows a seated, bald man with glasses at a desk marked CAISSE, one arm raised and a bowler-like hat on the table. A standing clerk in spectacles holds a paper in the doorway while a wall clock reads about one-ten. The caption below reads as a sharp remark that the seated man no longer belongs to the house; the print is by Félix Vallotton, dated 1902.
