About this work

A dense multi-panel chart arranged around a central engraving titled Landing of Columbus, October 12th 1492, showing a figure with a banner and cross among kneeling companions on a shore. Surrounding vignettes depict scenes such as the Pilgrims' landing, Washington crossing the Delaware, Independence Hall, the Capitol dome, and naval battles, all rendered in black and tan engraved tones. The print was issued in 1890 by Muller, Luchsinger & Co. as a pictorial survey of American history.
