About this work
A lithographic print shows the Royal Mail steam ship Asia, a paddle steamer with three masts, rigging, and a tall smokestack, driving through rough sea waves with its large paddle wheel visible. Flags fly from its masts and a small sailing boat appears on the horizon. The print, published by Currier & Ives in 1851, lists the vessel's dimensions and engine power in its lower margin.
