About this work
A pen-and-ink drawing shows a row of seated, richly robed men in tall caps on a raised dais, styled after Venetian doges, with a bulging bag labeled "Gold We Trust" beside them. Smaller, ragged figures and a fur-robed figure approach from the foreground, and the scene is framed by ornate wall panels. William Henry Walker created this work in 1906.
