About this work
An ink drawing by William Henry Walker, dated 1905, shows a figure in layered Japanese samurai armor and helmet shaking hands with a caricatured man in a striped suit and top hat. The man holds a long sword in one hand while bowing and smiling, and the scene is rendered in pen and ink with hatched shading.
