About this work
A pen-and-ink caricature by William Henry Walker, dated 1905, shows two large, glum men in the foreground, one in a Scottish kilt and feathered bonnet, flanked by a crowd of small figures carrying bags of money, buildings, an organ, and church spires. Smaller figures on the ground appear to return or reject the gifts, and the drawing is signed and dated at lower left.
