About this work
A pen-and-ink political cartoon by William Henry Walker, dated 1910, titled Too much High Tariff music. A bearded man crouches at the mouth of a cave, shielding himself and gesturing outward, while a band of stout, exaggerated figures in tunic-like costumes plays pipes, a horn, and a drum. A domed building resembling the Capitol appears in the distance, and a hat labeled consumer lies on the rocks.
