About this work
A black and white ink drawing shows three battleships with American flags advancing through turbulent, dark waves, their smokestacks billowing smoke. The ships have comical faces on their hulls, and fish and a sea serpent swim among the waves within an ornamental border. The work is by William Henry Walker and is dated 1905.
