About this work
A pen and ink drawing shows Roman-style soldiers in armor and short tunics running, stumbling and being carried across a plaza toward a classical building with steps. A banner reading "Votes for Women" is raised among the crowd at right, and a signature with the date 1913 appears in the lower right corner. The work is titled The rape of the Sabine men and is attributed to William Henry Walker.
