About this work
A pen-and-ink political cartoon in which a fortified wall of money bags marked with dollar signs is defended by ancient-style soldiers under a flag reading The Sugar Trust. Behind the wall, a banquet of figures seated at a table labeled Board of Directors is attended by servants, while a crowd labeled Army of the People advances from the right across a plain. The work is titled The men higher up, drawn by William Henry Walker and dated 1910.
