About this work
A pen and ink drawing by William Henry Walker, dated 1913, titled The Hall of Fame. Take my place doc. A stooped man in a dark suit clutches a satchel labeled Dr. Friedmann and a hat, while a row of exaggerated caricature figures stands in niches above plaques reading Land Shark, Ananias, Baron Munchausen and Doctor Cook. A figure in a ruffled costume leaps down from the pedestal toward the viewer, and small turtles crawl near the man's feet.
