About this work
A pen and ink caricature sheet by William Henry Walker, dated 1915, showing a central large-bellied figure labeled G.W. surrounded by exaggerated figures labeled Wm. Penn, Dan'l Webster, Benj. Franklin, Lincoln, U.S. Grant, Grover Cleveland and Henry Clay. Several figures carry beer steins and one holds a scroll reading Treaty, which suggests the satirical theme of German-American perspectives on United States history.
