About this work
An ink drawing in a caricature style shows a stout, mustachioed man in a striped suit, one hand pressed to his chest and the other arm extended outward. The exaggerated proportions and hatched shading give the figure a comic, theatrical character. The work is titled "Sold, by a pensive President", by William Henry Walker, dated 1910.
