About this work
A charcoal and ink drawing shows a helmeted soldier leaping forward, brandishing a razor and a bayonet, toward a kneeling man in a long coat whose cap is flying off his head. The scene is set in a shell-torn battlefield with broken posts and debris, and the work is signed and dated by William Henry Walker, 1918.
