About this work
An ink drawing shows a robed, bearded figure in a mortarboard cap standing beside a large cake inscribed "BI-CENTENNIAL," while a toddler waves a Yale pennant from a chair. Several small children in caps and gowns join hands in the foreground, and the scene is rendered in dense hatched line work. The work is attributed to William Henry Walker and dated 1901.
