About this work
A pen and ink caricature shows a large elephant walking beside a stout, mustached man in a tall hat and frock coat who leans on a cane. The elephant wears a sash lettered G.O.P. and carries a parasol, and a small figure is perched atop the man's hat. William Henry Walker drew this work in 1908 under the title Second Empire.
