About this work
A charcoal and ink drawing shows two men in formal dress on a waterfront deck, one in a dark uniform covered in medals who smiles as the other, in a long coat and top hat, pins or adjusts a decoration on his chest. A third uniformed figure in a tricorn-style hat stands behind them holding an open case of medals, with ship rigging and a harbor railing in the background. William Henry Walker signed and dated the work 1920, and the print is titled Medals for meddling.
