About this work
An ink drawing shows a bearded, curly-haired man in a flowing cloak seated on a rearing horse with one foreleg raised, rendered in the manner of a classical equestrian statue. A small figure in a wide-brimmed hat sits at the lower center, sketching or observing the scene. The work is signed by William Henry Walker and dated 1910, and is titled Marcus Aurelius as my model.
