About this work
A 1903 drawing by William Henry Walker titled "A small man runs from two giants" shows a money-bag headed figure labeled TRUST and a scowling figure labeled UNION, both looming over a tiny man fleeing below. The giants brandish knives marked BRIBERY and BOYCOTT and carry flags reading "Competition is the death of trade" and "Competition is the death of labor." The work is rendered in charcoal and white chalk on paper.
