About this work
A pen and ink drawing shows a large woman in a white dress seated on the lap of a smaller man dressed in black, who sits on the edge of a chair with his arms around her. The room is rendered in dense cross-hatching, with a side table holding a candelabra and a rug on the floor. The work is signed and dated 1897 by William Henry Walker.
