About this work
A pen and ink caricature shows two men in eighteenth-century military dress, one holding a sword that is handed or held toward the other, with the word Yorktown written across the ground between them. Radiating lines behind the figures and the shoreline below suggest a dramatic, symbolic moment. The drawing is signed by William Henry Walker and dated 1915, and is catalogued as a print titled 1781.
